One of the biggest challenges of our days is how we can satisfy the increasingly higher energy demands, while reducing the environmental pollution to the smallest possible degree at the same time. Natural gas is the cleanest, safest, and most useful fuel with a mineral origin and because of this its application is growing to a considerable extent. While burning the natural gas no harmful soot or ash is generated, and the carbon monoxide and the sulphur dioxide emissions are minimal, so natural gas is one of the cleanest energy sources from an environment protection aspect. In comparison to any other fuel, the smallest degree of carbon dioxide (CO2) emission can be reached by means of the application of natural gas and this is important in relation to the global carbon dioxide emission aspect. The natural gas transportation pipelines run under the ground, and so, gas may leak into the air only in extreme cases.
