The near future
The fan-coil systems, in which a heat exchanger built together with a ventilator assumes the role of the traditional radiator, circulates the air of the room through the heat exchanger the surface of which is the multiple of that of the traditional radiator because of the frequent ribbing. This facilitates cooling in addition to heating. The more sophisticated versions feature a four-pipe system allowing real air-conditioning, even heating certain parts of the house while cooling others. For this purpose a liquid cooler is inevitable.
