Földgáz - A környezetkímélő energia forrása

Television, radio, computer

The old TV sets kept continuously in a ready mode of operation (stand-by) consume eighty percent more energy than the modern appliances (the difference is approximately 150 kWh/year).

The energy consumption of computers, printers, video displayer cannot mainly be known but we would hardly believe how much energy is used by answering machines, faxes, telephone sub-centres, basis and charging stations in a stand-by mode of operation as well.

So people who would like to save energy should de-energise the machines by means of an adapter equipped with a switch.

Screen technology
The electricity consumption of plasma TV sets and LCD TV sets only differs slightly, both types consumes roughly 45 W. The good old TV sets with a picture tube consumes exactly twice as much electricity as the plasma or LCD screen counterparts.

Consumption in the stand-by mode of operation
The old TV sets are responsible for the largest part of the electricity quantity used up in the stand by mode of operation. The consumption of a TV set with a picture tube is between 15 and 20 W in the stand-by mode, while an LCD TV set consumes only 1-3 W.

Our tip: Disconnect the plug from the socket if you do not use the TV set.
